Tradition meets modernity - Ringhotel Sellhorn celebrates 150th anniversary

It almost sounds like something out of a romance novel, but this story is based on events that life wrote. In 1873, a unique love story began for the Ringhotel Sellhorn in the Lüneburg Heath. A love of family, tradition and a love of hospitality. A love story that continues to this day and hopefully will continue for many centuries to come.

As the Gasthaus Zu den Linden, the Sellhorn family opened its doors to guests for the first time in 1873. At that time, only the drinks and food from their own farm were served. And here, too, the Sellhorn family - today, through marriage, the Dierksen and Landschof families - demonstrates courage for tradition, as the lovingly modernized cuisine continues to range sustainably oriented, preferably regional delicacies. Since 1899 the family hotel was constantly extended. As in many families at that time, there were also difficult times such as the death of a family member, times of war and some setbacks. However, the Sellhorn family continued to stick together and in 1947 opened the first 4 guest rooms with the highlight of the time, running hot water. Quickly word got around about the comfort and cordiality in the "Sellhorn" and the rooms were quickly fully booked. Thus, today's 4-star country hotel Ringhotel Sellhorn was lovingly expanded, extended and modernized from generation to generation and until today the motto is: Arrive - feel good - come again. A multi-generation hotel that writes history.

Similar to back then, arriving today is still something very special. The deceleration from the stressful everyday life sets in almost as soon as you enter. In the midst of the Lüneburg Heath, the team of the Ringhotel Sellhorn with its many years of experience and now in the 6th generation, provides unforgettable moments for its guests. Whether for recreation, sports, wellness, business lunches, conventions or meetings - the Ringhotel Sellhorn has an open ear for every wish of its guests. For the little ones there is of course the popular annual enrollment buffet.

For the 150th anniversary year in 2023, the Ringhotel Sellhorn has come up with a variety of surprises for its guests. The anniversary marathon starts already in January 2023. In addition to the numerous feasting dates and historical weeks, there is an anniversary offer as a special thank you to the guests: a time to enjoy and decelerate. Two nights with breakfast and 1 x half board for 2 persons are bookable for 150,- Euro as all-inclusive price for the room when arriving from Sunday to Wednesday, except on holidays and the months of August and September. The anniversary offer is available all year round and must be booked at least 14 days in advance.
