On the occasion of his 75th birthday, the cello virtuoso Mischa Maisky will give a top-class chamber music evening with Janine Jansen and Martha Argerich on 4 July 2023 in the Petruskirche Kiel. He is considered one of the most important cellists of the present day and is known for the emotional intensity of his interpretation.On 24 August, Anne-Sophie Mutter, four-time Grammy Award winner, will perform violin concertos by Johann Sebastian Bach, Francesco Maria Veracini and Joseph Bologne Chevalier de Saint-Georges, as well as André Previn's "Nonet", a composition written especially for the violinist and her ensemble. The Schleswig-Holstein Musik Festival also welcomes long-time festival friend Daniel Hope (violin) as a portrait artist in 2023. To show his roots as SHMF portrait artist, the cosmopolitan violinist with Irish-German-South African roots has invited the band "Lúnasa" to the Emkendorf estate for 25 July 2023.
